Our first drive into Big Bend National Park was all the way to the Rio Grande side, to the Boquillos Canyon overlook.

Driving out of the park as the sun was setting was beautiful
My favorite hike so far has been the Santa Elena Canyon Trail, we crossed the creek climbed up to an amazing view then back down to the rivers edge inside the canyon - very beautiful and peaceful!

We spent a day in the Chisos Mountains\Basin area.
We hiked the Lost Mine Trail - beautiful view of Juniper Canyon Overlook and also hiked the Chisos Basin Loop Trail, where we got an awesome view of the “Window” thru the mountains.
This was the most we hiked in one day and no wonder I was so tired - My Fitbit showed I climbed 87 floors!
John took the drone up for a bit around our campsite for a few pics & our neighbors (full-time RVers from Maryland - Gary & Karen) also had a drone so they flew both of them together some and we got some flying tips from Gary - flying it out to the river and using our VR goggles for the first time - It felt like you were flying looking thru those goggles - very cool! We will get more practice in for future pics/video.
On our last night, we enjoyed dinner, visiting around the fire pit & star gazing with fellow RVers (Gary & Karen) - Its great to meet new friends on these trips!
We really enjoyed our week in the Big Bend Area - A special treat was all of the Spring/Wildflowers blooming all thru the park, and I especially loved seeing the Big Bend Bluebonnets that were still lining many of the roads ( they grow very tall here!) One of the Rangers recommended a drive down a trail called Dagger Flats to see lots of Giant Dagger Yucca plants blooming. She wasn’t kidding.. there were miles of them, amazing to see.. the pictures don’t capture it very well.
