Virginia

We stopped in Virginia to visit my Great Aunt Ruby - great to see/visit  relatives I hadn’t seen in years or met before...

(sorry we didn’t get more pics or get to see everyone during our visit)

I love hearing family stories/history - some things I may have heard in the past but forgot about.  One was that my grandmother (Mama Stella) worked as a welder at Ingalls Shipyard in MS during WWII - pretty freaking awesome!
That’s where she met my grandfather (Papa Edward)

On the way there we drove thru Elkhorn City, KY.   They have painted Elk statues all throughout the city.
Reminds me of all the painted cows  🐮 we used to have in Houston!

We camped at Breaks Interstate Park.. a really pretty wooded campground literally in the middle of nowhere!
Lots of trees, and thankfully the sites were nice and wide.. so we had no need to try and dodge trees when we opened our slides 👍

I’m always thankful that John drives us on these journeys.. but especially so as he maneuvers the windy roads in the mountains!

Beautiful drive thru 4 states on our way from PA to VA, where we stayed overnight in a Walmart parking in WVA lot along the way.
