We found lots of Bison on our very first day at Yellowstone! We were told to take a drive thru Lamar valley in the early evening to get the best chances of seeing them. We hit the jackpot!
We first saw one standing right beside the road,
just like he was just waiting there for pictures to be taken. I expected that was the closest one we’d would see.
Then a 1/2 mile up the road we saw a large herd of them off on the right so we pulled into a pull-off with a few other cars to watch them.
Then shortly after that the herd started walking our way, right next to us!
with some of them splitting up and walking across the road on the other side of us!
And on our way out we saw one playing in a bush
Amazing to see so many so close and on our first day!
