Yellowstone National Park - Day1

Over 2 million acre National Park – there is so much to see – it’s hard not to stop at every place you come to along your drive - On our first drive into the park we stopped at:

Gibbons Falls

Beryl Springs - a beautiful blue ‘hot’ spring right off the road

Porcelain Basin Trail in the Norris Geyser Basis– our first geyser to see in the park (think rotten-eggs/sulfur smell – LOL), a very cool landscape.

Tower Falls (132 feet fall), and hiked down close to the river’s edge.

Calcite Springs along the Yellowstone River, where you can see rock formations that look like rock fence post from lava flow 1.3 million years ago

After all these stops we finally made it to Lamar Valley where we saw the large herd of Bison/Buffalo up close and the other one thrashing a bush(that I previously posted about)

And then a Beautiful Montana sunset on the drive home to end the day

Stats for the day:
*Miles Driven in the park:  150miles
*Wildlife Spotted: 2 Bears, Elk and 100+ Bison/Buffalo up close!
*Fitbit Tracker: Miles: 3.85   Steps:  8567   Floors: 46
