Yellowstone National Park - Day 2

Today we spent the majority of our time in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone – What a beautiful place!  A lot of hiking on the canyon trails to enjoy the views of the canyon & waterfalls.

We started out our day seeing a bear shortly after we drove into the park – walking in the woods right beside the road – I was able to snap a pic of him as we drove by (you have to look closely at the pic to see him)
You have to look closely at the pic to see him- Where's Waldo - LOL!

We hiked to the brink of the Lower Falls, then down Red Rock Points Trail, a beautiful trail that took us further down into the canyon for a good view of the Lower Falls.

Next we hiked Inspiration Point for more beautiful views into the canyon.  Some of the trails were closed, specifically the ones around the Rim/Upper Falls, but we got a good view of the upper Falls from Uncle Tom’s Trail, and another view of the Lower Falls from the Artist point.

We took a well deserved break & got our second wind after the Canyon hiking, so we stopped by Norris Geyser Basin on our way out to finish the geyser trails there.

Steamboat Geyser was very active as it had just erupted earlier that day and we could see a rainbow in the steam

Echinus had some pretty colors
