Arches National Park, Moab Utah

The day before we went into the park they had closed entry several times that day because it was full, no parking available( Sept is one of their busiest months) so Rachel at the Moab Visitor Center encouraged us to get there early.. so we got into the park early, and I guess since the day was mostly cloudy until noonish, it ended up being a great day to visit the park! We never had an issue with parking or crowds - yippie!

We started out day in the Windows section, the most popular area with Double Arch, Turret Arch and North & South Windows.

John climbing around Window Arch. They say it’s like a playground, where you want to climb, and that is exactly what John did! One lady said her kids were trying to climb higher like John - LOL

Next we drove out to Wolfe Ranch stop, where you can see the remains of a cabin that was built in the early 1900’s, an upgrade that the owners daughter insisted be built so they had a cabin with real floor and windows where 6 family members slept!

Along that trail we also got to see some petroglyphs

Then we drove out to the Delicate Arch viewpoint & walked out & up a bit further to sit and enjoy the view - even found some shade under a juniper bush!

A couple of formations on the right are said to look like Jabba the Hut and the Loch Ness Monster....LOL

In this area we saw lots of turquoise coloring in the landscape & even seeing it in the ground gravel and what looked like a sandy path/patch... Very pretty. Apparently it is mineral deposits created when volcanic ash settled in a lake.

We hiked out to see Landscape Arch - the largest (longest) arch in the park!

We drove the jeep out on the Tower Trail to see the Tower Arch...

I wasn’t expecting it to be as much of a 4x4 trail as it turned out to be - so we got some GoPro video of the ride. John hiked out to the arch.. again lots of rocks needed to be climbed- LOL
