We made a quick stop the Badlands National Park.
We stayed at a campground in the Interior Badlands that actually took us through the Badlands National Park to get to it.
Such a uniquely beautiful place, with all of the narrow channels, canyons & peaks that were formed from the erosion of layered rocks that were millions of years old.
Part of the park is also mixed-grass prairie where bison, bighorn sheep and other animals roam.
We did a couple of hikes and drove the scenic route through the park to Wall, and of course had to stop at the famous Wall Drug (huge store you see billboards advertising for miles off the interstate - forgot to take any pics there..).
One hike called the Door, took us a mile out over these amazing rock formations.
We made it to the end of the trail
