Falls Park runs along the river
and has lots of walking and biking trails.
We grabbed a quick lunch before our bike ride at the Falls Overlook Cafe, and while sitting on the deck having lunch we had a surprise air show as fighter jets were flying right over us.
It was the 114th Fighter Wing unit of the South Dakota Air National Guard, who are stationed at Joe Foss Field Air National Guard Station, Sioux Falls, South DakotaWe enjoyed listening to live music at several venues, including a winery & brewery sitting outside & social distancing in the wonderful 70+ degree weather!
We took a hike in Palisades State Park.
Split Rock Creek flows through the park, which is lined with really pretty Sioux quartzite formations of varying heights above the water. Some of the formations are quite high and we saw a few rock climbers on the vertical cliffs.
We ran into a raccoon on the trail that didn’t want to give us the right of way..
He finally moved on to let us by...We attended mass (first time not virtual since March)
at the beautiful Cathedral of St Joseph Catholic Church.
